Primary-Secondary Separators

Combination primary and secondary separators provide mechanical separation of ash from a vacuum conveying air stream through a combination of impact, centrifugal and velocity change methods. The primary separator increases the cross-sectional area of the conveying stream while the inlet introduces material to the separator on a tangentially circulating path, removing up to 85% of the ash. The secondary separator places the ash/air stream on a faster tangential path to remove 90% of the remaining ash.

    Depending on site conditions, the simplest and best method is to assemble the entire separator on the ground and lift it fully assembled onto the silo with a crane.
